Muscle, bone and joint injuries (MSK) is the second highest reason for sickness absence in Cumberland Council. As part of our commitment to workplace wellbeing we are raising awareness of a new digital self-management support available for residents in the Cumberland area.
The NHS North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) has partnered with getUBetter to provide a FREE and safe digital self -management support for all common muscle, bone and joint injuries and conditions (MSK). The app content is signed off by our local Integrated Care System (ICS), approved by NICE
(National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and certified by Cyber Essentials Plus.
The getUBetter App
The digital app supports people 18 years or older who have a new, recurrent, or long-term MSK condition.
Using getUBetter gives people the opportunity to self-manage, a greater understanding and control over their condition and the confidence in their ability to trust their own recovery. The App content is configured to our local Integrated Care System and provides:
- accessible and personalised self-management support and advice videos
- exercises based on the person’s stage of recovery
- recovery monitoring, including setting goals, a pain scale and diary function
- a symptom checker and signposting to an appropriate service if needed
The app is available on mobile phones, tablets or online and can be loaded onto your personal or work devices.
