Who is classed as a night worker
A night worker is anyone who works at least three hours between 11pm and 6am on a regular bases (as defined in the Working Time Regulations).
Regular health checks
Night work can affect some health conditions, so you must provide regular health checks:
- before you start night work (as part of your pre-employment medical screening)
- every 12 months after that, using the online questionnaire
It's your decision as to whether you wish to accept the offer of the assessment.
Fill in the online questionnaire
You will be sent a link to the night worker online questionnaire by email from the occupational health provider UKIM
After you have completed the questionnaire
Depending on your answers, you will either:
- be cleared to work straightaway
- be referred to a Occupational Health Advisor for a follow-up discussion
Your line manager will be told the overall result, but your personal medical information will not be shared without your consent.
