Refer an employee to the Occupational Health Service

When you should refer someone, what you need to provide for the referral and what happens after.

The Occupational Health Service will help keep your employees healthy and safe whilst in work and manage any risks in the workplace that are likely to give rise to work-related ill health. 

You should contact the service as soon as possible where an employee's medical condition is causing concern.

Follow the steps in this process to make a referral.

  1. When to refer to the service

    The types of situations when you should refer an employee to Occupational Health Services - for example, if they've been absent from work for 3 weeks.

    To help us to carry out an informed assessment, we need as much information as possible from you about each specific referral.
