Manager peer support sessions

Find sessions on supporting yourself and your team through local government reorganisation (LGR).

From 15 March through to the end of April the Organisational Development Team will be facilitating informal Peer Support Sessions for managers.

A mix of face-to-face and virtual (MS Teams) sessions will be available for managers to join.  The face-to-face sessions will be held at a number of anchor buildings across the new council area to enable you to access one convenient to your place of work.  Alternatively, join us virtually if that fits in better with your day.

We are aiming to ensure all line managers and supervisors in Cumberland Council have access to a supportive forum and effective resources to support themselves and their teams through this significant period of change.

Managing yourself and your team

This will include:

  • an induction site – highlighting the range of information and support available to yourself and your team
  • How you are supporting you and your team, useful tools – for example, Change Curve.

Championing change

This will include answering these questions:

  • What does this mean?
  • How are you and your team doing or going to do this?

Wellbeing

This will include answering these questions:

  • eeview of the resources available
  • how to access and look after yourself and your team

Open forum

This will include:

  • an opportunity to share any issues or concerns and gain support/advice from peers
  • your time to share and discuss
  • supporting each other through your immediate challenges
