Apply for Discretionary Voluntary Redundancy
You can apply through ServiceNow (SNOW) by raising a ticket for Cumberland Voluntary Redundancy.
If you cannot access to ServiceNow you can apply by email with: 'Request to apply for VR' and include the following key information:
- employee number
- employee name
- post title(s)
- Line manager name
- Service area

What happens after I apply
Here’s what to expect:
- Manager review: Your manager checks eligibility and considers any impact on the service.
- Pay and Reward costings: If eligible, your application is passed to Pay and Reward to complete the financial assessment.
- Director review: the Director for your service will review all of the applications and make a recommendation to the VR panel.
- Panel review: Once the Voluntary Redundancy (VR) window closes, all applications are reviewed together by the VR Panel.
- Outcome: You’ll be notified of the decision as soon as the panel has completed its assessment.
