HR modules: advice and support through employment

The teams within HR and advice on certain aspects of the HR role that can help provide support for all employees.

Teams within HR

Business Partnering Team

Are there to support Directors and Assistant Directors in the relevant services areas.  They will provide strategic intervention and support from an HR and OD level.

Pay and Reward Team

Provide support and pay and benefits including grading post specifications, managing regrading appeals, managing employee benefits, implementing national pay awards, supporting equal pay claims and pensions including deferred benefits, ill health retirement process and additional voluntary contributions.

Resourcing Team

Are there to support managers with the recruitment process.  Their role covers advert placement, support throughout the appointment process including pre-employment checks (including DBS).  Processing and setting up of starters including system set up, issue of contract documentation and establishing a personal file.

HR Advisory Team

Provides help and support to managers on casework.  This could be disputes such as a grievance, disciplinary, general misconduct, performance management, absence management including ill-health retirement cases, policy creation and support.

HR Admin and Payroll Team

Is a hosted team and administers and processes all transactional aspects of employment for ex-county (includes Cumberland, Westmorland & Furness and Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service).  This includes any employment changes, processing time off work i.e., leave, maternity, sickness etc., and pension administration.
