Kendall Calling post-festival salvage
Kendal Calling Festival attracts around 40,000 visitors each year and, despite efforts to reduce waste through reusable cups and encouraging festival goers to take their tents home, some items are still left behind after the event.
The aim was to recover useful items that could be reused to support people experiencing poverty and homelessness. Volunteers focused on collecting single and two-person tents, sleeping bags and cooking equipment, while festivalgoers were also encouraged to donate any unwanted food before leaving the site.
The day proved a great success, with Restore's van filled with reusable items and the festival site left much cleaner. Most importantly, the equipment collected will now go on to support people in local communities, helping to reduce waste while making a real difference to those who need it most.
